The Dark CRystal: Age of Resistance - "DARKNESS RISES"

After nearly 37 years since the original film premiered, the Dark Crystal returned as an epic, 10-episode Netflix series. Our campaign brought all the fans back and reintroduced the property to a whole new generation.

Our teaser introduced new fans to the magical world of Thra with enough easter eggs to make die-hard fans “Mmmhmmm.“

The trailer revealed more character development, story and puppetry.

Fizzgig Chorus

Our Now Streaming asset shared the song of Thra in our broadest beat of the campaign, fluffy singing Fizzgigs.

Teaser crystal art highlighted the journey and dangers of Thra.

Our adaptable tapestry was split up into various OOH, exhibition hallways and even the Comic Con trolly.

Tiktok Screaming Fizzgigs

We capitalized on the popularity of VSCO girls with the Skeksis version of the hydroflask. Quick Fizzgig videos were praised as “the best Tiktok ads” fans had ever seen. The channel grew by 100K over the course of the campaign.

Fizzgig Football

To introduce the Dark Crystal: AOR to new fans, we created a Fizzgig versus Skeksis play-by-play. The video racked up 2.6MM views on Twitter and broke through in several high profile NFL placements.

Illustrated Art Quests

Artists Kevin Tong and La Boca created custom, glow-in-the-dark illustrated posters. Buried within each was a secret code that could only be cracked by aligning the symbols in the art with the symbols in the crystal chamber to generate real world GPS coordinates.

Two lucky super fans cracked the mystery to reveal that Dark Crystal was headed to Comic Con Hall H and the BFI in London. For their efforts, the fans won posters and tickets to the events.
